Thank you so much for the contributions so far. The last day's is the one we have all been waiting for: The best Cormoran-and-Robin moment. It can be shipping, it can be professional, it can even be a knock-down, drag-out fight on a rainy street.
Post away!
I have a great fondness for coffee/biscuits/Bristow/Sandra. ☕
ReplyDeleteSo many to choose from but I do love the hospital car park one where they have spent a lovely few hours chatting together - both have been feeling fairly rough but obviously soothed by each other’s presence. The sheer pleasure in Strikes face when he sees Strike enter the hospital ward, the squeeze of the hand and the accidental kiss. “It was a glorious thing to be given hope…….” That’s exactly how I felt too ❤️
ReplyDeleteI love that she took the risk as well, she rowed with her husband to go and see a friend with whom she has been having a period of coolness. He might not have wanted her there but she instinctively felt like that's where she should be.
DeleteThere are loads of lovely Strike/Robin moments but two that spring to mind are; good cop/bad cop - 'How bad d'you want me to be?' and the end of Chapter 59 of TB - 'What say, first to break Barclay's nose wins the night?'
ReplyDeleteI was a bit surprised that the preceding chapter did not get mentioned, with its "My best mate is you" moment, but apparently a lot of folks thought that was too obvious.
DeleteMine is the breakdown on the verge, from the time Robin emerges from her panic attack and he puts his arm around her for the first time, until their talk about the future of the business at the racetrack later. I love how Robin is fearing the worst and Strike instead delivers the exact opposite in his understanding. So different from Matthew. And the secret delight Strike feels when he learns they have split up.
ReplyDeleteDon’t think I can pick just one! But I’ll add to the list above when Strike was waiting to help her on moving day with his heart (shaped leaves) on a potted plant.
ReplyDeleteRobin almost takes the plant with her later to protect it when she has to leave the flat. I was reminded of this when Jo tweeted that she was keeping someone's gifted orchid alive
DeleteIt’s so hard to choose, and I love all of those already mentioned. But I think a particularly delightful passage is when they are in Skegness and having fish and chips, and talking over the case, and donkeys, strikes little impulse to buy Robin a stuffed donkey, and the joke (and truth about human nature) in the one weird trick for losing belly fat!
ReplyDeleteI still love the first moment Strike and Robin met when Strike grabs Robin to prevent her fall.
