Like many Strike fans, I participated in a recent Twitter challenge from JKR/RG:
Tweet me your most entertaining (or accurate, or insightful, or amusingly bonkers) predictions for what happens in The Running Grave and I'll buy the author of the winning tweet dinner.
There was no limit on the number of entries, so I went for a mixture of serious and silly.
Of my three serious predictions, two were based off ring structure, the idea that elements from books 1 and 4 would be reflected in 7. (You can read more about that in relationship to Harry Potter here.)
- the names rhyme (Morris and Delores)
- he's egotistical and thinks himself better qualified than Robin (like Umbridge felt about DD) he sucks up to Strike (like Umbridge sucked up to Fudge)
- he's chased away at the end (Umbridge pursued by Peeves, Morris nearly falls over himself after Strike takes a step towards him)
In terms of predicting the future (as far as the book series goes, at least), there was one notable item that caught my own attention.
ReplyDeleteIt was a message sent by someone who doesn't exist. Specifically, the publisher "Daniel Chard" of "Silkworm" fame, replied to an article, as seen in the link below:

I'm turning this over because it seemed like this was the right place to drop something like this off.
